“Deep reds, oranges, and dark browns, stark white on pure black... the colors and brushstrokes grace the canvas where Andalusian hats hang low over concealed eyes. Curves of the female figure flow like honey strumming abstract guitars. The sky is set on fire.”
Sharif has an atypical trait in which he creates art to counterbalance his analytical mind as an engineer.
Since a kid he’s been fascinated with creating visually from within and developing a unique perspective on life without following any rules and breaking as many as he possibly can.
With the influence of his older brother, a talented musician, and his own passion for music, Sharif’s body of work possesses mesmerizing fluidity and feeling as if dancing across canvas. Violating traditional methods, he uses an unusual technique of painting with opaque watercolors on wood. A style he has mastered to transcend generations.
You will find Sharif’s work gracing the labels of award winning wines or illuminating the walls of fine restaurants, but his true passion is painting live at nightclubs, bars, or any place where the atmosphere is electric and music fills the air. In his words, “the ultimate art studio”.
Sharif was born and raised in Seattle Washington. A childhood dream of designing and racing cars led him study mechanical engineering at the University of Washington where he submerged himself in the Formula SAE program. This program sparked a journey and career through automotive design with Honda R&D, Ford, and General Motors.
Sharif now resides in Temecula California where competitive cycling drives his spirit. |
